I have a O2 pay as you go tariff, I’m leaving the country for three months and I won’t need my O2 SIM card for that period. How can I still have my number and tariff when I’m back? Or do I have to pay even when I’m not using it?

@Anna3103

You need to make a call or text every 6 months, although I would make one before you go as some people have found the number disconnected after 3 months just recently.

This will keep your sim active.

Just make a call or send a text, this will ensure O2 are aware the sim is still being used.

You need to keep paying your bill.

That will be enough to keep the account active

Only members of armed forces in a war zone can freeze their account

Bit confusing. OP has said they have a Pay & Go tariff but posted in Pay Monthly. Which is it @Anna3103?

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

One call or text every 3months will keep the number alive, and also ensure you have credit on there
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu

Just don't top up until you come home if you're not intending to use the phone.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
