Data in France

I'm off to France in 3 weeks and I'd like to use my iPad there.  It has cellular capability (locked to O2, as far as I'm aware).  I don't expect to have wifi available a lot of the time.  Is it possible to use a payment plan or one-off plan abroad?

Thanks for the shout out @Cleoriff
Only sims from o2 phones will give you data on your locked o2 device.
O2 data sims don’t work abroad.
If you want to unlock to use a different sim, see help here.

@ARTHI don't think any of O2 plans would work on an iPad abroad. However, I will call in @MI5 to confirm...

I think you would need to get it unlocked and use another sim...

I had a suspicion that was the case Cleoriff.  For the sake of this one trip, I probably wouldn't bother to get it unlocked.  I kind of hoped that the 4G agreement that O2 now have with Orange and Bouygues might have heralded some additional benefits for the ipad.  I guess I could put my iPhone (contract) sim in it?

@ARTHI would wait for clarification on this. When I was last abroad a year ago, I could only use my tablet on WiFi (which was plentiful.)...
