I took over my daughters contract as she could not afford it but she has now used the account to acquire a new phone which she cannot pay for - I have had the mobile number for years and never failed to pay the bills but I am unwilling to pay for a handset costing over a thousand pounds when I have not asked for it - if I don't pay the handset bill my phone will be cut off - is there any way I can keep my number on a pay as you go basis and let her foot the bill for the handset??

Unfortunately not, as the handset has to be paid off before you can move the number to PAYG.
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

@Dianne1967 You can say you've changed your mind and return the phone, if it's still within the 30 day period.
