I have a spare handset on another network for emergency use in the car - if I port the number to O2 will it be eligible for Classic PAGY tariff ? I read that existing customers were not eligible to switch to Classic , but does this also apply to numbers ported in by customers who have an existing O2 tariff on their handset

No, not unless you can find an old classic sim in a pound shop or similar, but check if it is still in date.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@WeeMac

If you already have that tariff, it will remain so when porting in a number to it.

I've maybe not been 100% clear ? I have a handset which has been on O2 Classic PAYG tariff for several years.  I also have a second hadset in the car for emergency etc. on another network with  a different number. If I buy a new O2 SIM card, can I port that number to O2 and have the Classic tariff on that second handset ?
