Solved: Changing phone both pay as you go

Looking at Upgrading to a new phone,Have a LG but wanting to go to Samsung Galaxy J5 2017

but want to keep the number etc, can I just use the same Sim card in the new phone,

Then can I purchase a new one for the LG to give to my mother.

Also don't really know a lot about phones is the Samsung a good buy?

Yes, just move your sim to whichever phone you want. If you need a different size, O2 will give you one for free with your number on it.
The new PAYG phone will come with a sim anyway, so give that sim to your Mother.
The J5 2017 is a great phone btw - well worth buying
