My O2 PAYG sim has suddenly stopped working in Ireland. Away for work currently and my personal O2 phone no longer allow outgoing calls. I get a standard "this service does not allow access to this number" message when trying to dial out. Same result when trying to call O2 themselves on 4445.
Also noticed in my Call Settings that "Call Barring" has been enabled but I don't know the barring password to unset this.
I've no idea what has happened, this used to work fine abroad until recently.
Please advise. Many thanks

Thanks @madasaf1sh, yes I tend to agree. Either a recent crackdown on O2 PAYG services across the board or 3G shut down causing this. I've noticed similar recent posts from visitors to Spain and Greece with the same issue, such as below:

Gotta be related

Hi @madasaf1sh just thought I'd update on the latest with my O2 PAYG service. It suddenly started working again today! I've no idea why but I can now make outgoing calls in Ireland on my UK O2 PAYG Sim.
I changed nothing, having got nowhere with O2 customer support either through their social media channels or calling them directly, I just left it alone and tried unsuccessfully to make a call each day.
Today it worked and I can now use the phone/SIM as normal, no idea why though.... 😀
