My O2 PAYG sim has suddenly stopped working in Ireland. Away for work currently and my personal O2 phone no longer allow outgoing calls. I get a standard "this service does not allow access to this number" message when trying to dial out. Same result when trying to call O2 themselves on 4445.
Also noticed in my Call Settings that "Call Barring" has been enabled but I don't know the barring password to unset this.
I've no idea what has happened, this used to work fine abroad until recently.
Please advise. Many thanks

This is a customer to customer community, not O2, so we cannot access your account, sorry.
You need to contact O2.
Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

The call barring bar is usually set on your phone, and can be undone byt entering your PIN number (it can be the same as used on the phone or try 0000).
Try this in the dialer as well

Call barring also shows when the network does not allow you to make calls, for whatever reason.

Thanks for the suggestion but neither the PIN nor the call barring cancellation code worked. Currently trying to get through to O2 support to find out why. Was home in the UK earlier this week and SIM worked fine again, able to make outgoing calls. As soon as I arrived in Ireland again outgoing calls are barred.

I'm afraid neither of the 2 links you posted work

Thanks. I don't understand why this would be enabled. Have spoken to O2 support and they don't know either, there is nothing on my account that suggests a barring action has been activated.

As it's PAYG it is most likely that 4G calling has not been enabled yet. This means the phone will use 3G to try to make a call. All the Irish networks have either switched off 3G or just have a handful of area where this has not yet happened.
I would put money on this being your problem

Have you exceeded the 63 days roaming in a 4-month period @Logboy?
https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/roamfairuse
Also has your PAYG balance reached zero? You will need balance in addition to bundle if you start being charged for calls because you have exceeded the 63 days' roaming restriction, @Logboy.
