Solved: Can I port a number to o2 after I have topped up?

Hello,

sorry for being a bit dense, but if I top up my new o2 sim (so I can use it straight away) can I then port over my old number from Three at a later date? [I need to have a working phone all next week, so it's either top up the Three number I want to move from or the new o2 & start the process of moving my number the following week].
