I am trying to get age verification removed but customer services say it cannot be done unless I change to a contract.

I have PAYG and I don't have a credit card.

If I had a credit card they can do it, so it must be possible on PAYG. Are there no other options to prove age?

Answer here, @Keith6

There are three options .

1. There is no age verification option in O2 app or web for PAYG.

2. I don't have a credit card.

3. O2 shop cannot change age verification for PAYG.

O2 Shop can verify your age with appropriate photo-id (passport as an example). Like it says in Guide: O2 Age restriction guide, @Keith6.

That is correct but they say they have no way of accessing my account to change age verification because I am PAYG.

Try a different shop @Keith6

Many others have done so in store.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Thanks but that is not very practical. As you say, I am certain age requirement can be changed. I have followed their guidance and still I am refused, both by customer services and their shop. I have decided to change my provider.

Sorry to see you go, @Keith6 - but as the info in the guide says: "Following OFCOM regulation, all O2 sim cards come with age restriction turned on." - I'd expect all carriers to comply with the OFCOM rules, so check with your new provider how the deal with removal of Age Restriction rules.

Good luck!
