I got a text off O2 saying that I won't be able to to top-up at my bank's ATM after May. So does that apply to all O2 Pay As You Go customers? Has anyone else got this message? Why are ATM top-ups being discontinued?

Hi guys,
I've received a reply on this and I can confirm that unfortunately ATM topups won't be available from the 30th May 2019.
The decision to end this service was made by the external provider and not O2. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to PAYG customers.
PAYG customers will still be able to topup using the below methods.
→ COVID-19 support - Help and support from O2 during the lockdown
→ Access for You: Registration - Find out how to register for our Access for You service.
→ Just joined the community or thinking of registering? Check out this handy starter guide!
→ Have a query about your account? login to My O2 for help
If you'd like to take part, why not register?

No idea. Maybe one of our managers could confirm?
I would need to change the guide if this is the case?

Thanks for the mention on this thread @Cleoriff.
@Aensa I'll check with the team now for you. I'll drop an update in this thread once I hear back from the team.

Maybe it's something the networks are doing?
I have A Virginmedia simcard too and I received a text saying I couldn't to up at an at after a certain date....

No , nothing from EE nor Three as I have active sims for both although I have no O2 P&G.

That’s a very stupid decision to do. Thought E top up cards were no longer available & if your first ever top up has to be a voucher then how do you achieve that

Oh my, I can see the complaints just rolling in, if true.

Received a Text myself this morning: couldn't believe it but had the news confirmed by a Chat support person. They said that the providers are withdrawing this service for all ATM users at the end of May! Chat person also said that the O2 Web site information hasn't been updated yet.
I'm amazed that we have all had so little notice and that there appears to be no other news about this on the Internet just yet.
This was my preferred method of topping-up: quick and easy to do when out and about.
Seems like ATM operators are killing off their own services starting with removal of ATM machines and charging for cash withdrawals: now this!
Yes, let the complaints begin.
