I think I know the answers but just want to make sure...

I have an active classic 123 sim with ~£15 credit.  If I port in my old giffgaff number, will I (a) stay on the classic tariff and (b) keep my credit?

Also, if I have to top up/buy a bolt-on every 6 months to keep my number, is there a text/email/carrier pigeon to remind me when the 6 months is almost up?  I tend to lose track of time and would hate to lose the number I've had for years because I missed some random date on the calendar.
