Texting from abroad

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello all. I have an O2 monthly contract with unlimited texts. I was recently in Florida and had no problems sending and receiving text messages however since arriving here in St Lucia I can only receive. I have checked the message centre number and that seems to be ok. Making and receiving calls is fine. Any ideas?

You are aware that your unlimited texts only apply to when you're using them in the UK, or if you're using the TuGo app over WiFi if you're abroad, aren't you? If you're texting and calling while roaming on another network there are charges for that.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

I'm guessing there is a problem with the local network. I think you guys are misinterpreting the OP, his outgoing texts are failing.

@the OP, have you tried a different network manually?

We are just worried the OP is building up nasty charges they may not be aware of Jonsie.

Yes that's fair enough but it wasn't really answering his query. I'm sure he will take your advice onboard though:smileyhappy:

One of the disadvantages of having unlimited texts is when you are abroad you get stung for sending a text where as if you had limited texts it would take four from that total. I have unlimited texts but I would much prefer a limit (100 would do me) to avoid this issue when travelling overseas. Please can someone explain the reason behind this policy?

If you have moved away from a four for one tariff you can no longer go back to it.

Those tariffs don't exist now.
