Cannot connect to free o2 wifi hotspot on laptop

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hey guys I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas first and foremost... I shall have to make this quick as I am tethering my mobile phone at the moment to post this from my laptop.

Now to the point, whenever i TRY and connect to the o2 wifi (which has the yellow exclamation mark currently) and then try and log onto my browser, it just does not load anything , ive tried the 1.0.0.0 and also the default link to the welcome page just fails every time.

I have signed into my o2 account then logged off my mobile hotspot, tried the o2 one again, same issue.

Is it maybe something to do with my cache perhaps? Could someone point me in the right direction please, many thanks in advance for any assistance !!

It is a William Hill free hotspot that I am trying, and I will add that both my iPhone and iPad both have been successfully added and work fine.

Do they not allow laptops? Thanks again and I look forward to any responses! grin

The yellow exclamation mark means it's connected to wifi but there is no internet connection available from the wifi signal.
You can try rebooting the laptop but this usually means you need to open a browser window to login.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Maybe they are scared of laptops hogging the data. Have you seen any others using laptops and if they are ask them which network they are on
