texts from USA

Anonymous
Not applicable

I sent about 30 texts (maximum)from USA and have been chagrged for 171. I even had my "roaming" turned off at an approved O2 store before I left so there could be no confusion as I know this can cause issues.

How could you have sent texts if you weren't on a US network? Were you on WiFi using TuGo? That's the only way you wouldn't be charged for the texts. If that isn't the case, you were roaming on a US network and would be paying for every text sent and received.

The OP wouldn't pay to receive texts with an O2 sim in the phone no matter which US network they were on. Sounds like data roaming was switched off not network roaming.

I always switch sims when I go to the US and use a PAYG T-Mobile sim there, so I never have my O2 sim in the phone when I'm there. I'm unclear as to why you say the OP wouldn't get charged to receive texts if they were roaming on a US network?

The question really is why have they sent 30 and been charged for 171.

I'm guessing it could have been a network issue.

Hence my first reply, maybe they were sent as long texts rather than standard ones.
