roaming charges

I ma travelling to South Korea this week.  Will my phone work and what are the roaming charges.  Would it better to buy a sim card in South Korea?

O2 doesn't offer any travel packages to South Korea.

You would be better with a local sim. Turn Voicemail Off before you go.

@Matthew16 To add to the advice from @Cleoriff, along with using a local sim, download WhatsApp. You can use it over a WiFi connection to call, text, or video call anyone anywhere who also has the app installed for free. You can also use Skype or Facebook Messenger.
