I have received 2 seperate code messages from 02 that say "Please enter this code to retrieve your 02 account. If you did not authorise this contact o2." I do not know what I am supposed to have authorised, what do I do about these messages.

Sounds like a phishing scam to me, do not click on any links in these messages.
You could forward them to phishing@o2.com so they can be checked, more here:
