It's a pity customers aren't told this:

How does Pay Monthly O2 Travel work?

You'll only be charged £1.99 for each day that you use data in Europe.

  • There's no upper usage limit, but data speeds will vary with usage.
  • Your daily data charge will apply from midnight to midnight UK time

It gets capped for speed after 100mb in any one day. It is also slowed down for any streaming services.
For stuff like email, Facebook and Twitter etc it's fine.

I 'roam' in Spain a lot.... but am lucky enough to be able to use Wifi where I am, so I have never really had any worries or problems about reaching data limits wink

It really is pot luck where you are travelling to in Europe as speeds vary from country to country. Spain is one of the better ones,  France not so.

I do consider myself lucky with Spain. I am based close to Malaga and my network choice is always Movistar.

I honestly notice no difference in speeds at all whether over Wifi or on the absolute rare occasions I use data roaming...

Hi There,

As previously stated there is no upper usuage limit as far as I am aware and according to the following:
https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/international/using-phone-in-europe

But speeds will vary with network coverage, and depending on how many people are using the network at any one time

Many Thanks

That's not what "*data speeds will vary with usage" means.
It's not to do with coverage or congestion, it's a bandwidth throttling based on average of previous xx amount of data used over xx time period.
