Can anybody help,i have put my micro-sim into my new phone and i am waiting to get my contract onto this new sim from my old one.. even with this does it mean my phone will say sim not in?

No, not usually. It will only say that if there is no SIM or if it is incorrectly inserted.

Oh right, well its in correctly its a xperia u ... 02 are just in middle on transfering my contract over to the micro sim, but the micro sim is in my new phone already but its saying it isnt and there is no reception /signal either

If the phone doesn't recognise the SIM you will never get a signal....

If you are sure the sim is inserted correctly, reboot the phone periodically and it should pick up the network when the number transfer is complete. Not sure about the error message you are seeing though?

Well i followed the instructions and its in the correct way.. turn it on and it says no service, no sim ... 02 said the transfer should be complete in a few hours but that was at 6pm ... geting frustrated not having a phone as they cut my other sim off

Just keep rebooting every hour until you get network reception. If it's saying no sim, that's because there is no information for the phone to read as it's still an unprovisioned sim.

The old sim will turn off before the new sim is connected - that is normal. However, if the phone is saying no sim, it's not in correctly !!
