O2 webmail started to close down about 3 years ago.
It has now been completely shut down.

Did you not receive any emails or texts to inform you? Anything you had in there is now gone I'm afraid. You need to set up another email client. O2 have a history of closing things down I'm afraid, think O2 Money, cash card, broadband etc. They do give everyone adequate notice though....

One weird thing I have noticed with this since webmail closed is the email forwarding I had on to send my o2.co.uk emails to my main email account still works. Surprised

Thanks

Really? Thats odd. Though, the webmail server (ie the hosting) in the background will still be in use for colleagues.

Yes they still need the server for internal mail but I would have thought it would be restricted. You do need however to just forget o2 webmail now.
