Has anyone tried to use WiFi or 4G Calling with any recent Huawei phones? If yes, does it require O2 firmware? or does Huawei provide carrier-branded firmware anyway?

It seems O2 is failing to detect the device type in My O2.

There's been a few complaints about that recently.

Finally, the VoLTE switch on my new device is missing when an O2 SIM is plugged in. No idea whether it fails to register on the network or the device does not attempt to register at all. Configuring call forwarding over LTE does not work and falls back on 3G. WiFi Extras works with manual setup using SIM authentication but the device shows no signs connecting to VoWiFi successfully.

Still looking at whether it is a device issue or activation issue.

The phone doesn't work properly with a Three SIM either.

Yes, the device gets 4G signal with both O2(Pay monthly) and a Three SIM(the free SIM without credit).

I guess neither network supports that phone then.

I don't even know whether O2 is going to support Huawei phones.
