Why is it such an annoying ordeal to do something as simple as transfer a phone number using a PAC

I have recently switched to O2 from giff gaff and have tried repeatedly to transfer my phone number from giff gaff to O2 using the PAC code from giff gaff. It seems almost impossible to find the place to enter my PAC code on this site. When I tried via the phone the voice recognition software couldn't recognise the security code I had given it on this site. It's incredibly annoying and if it's still not fixed by the end of this month then this O2 sim is going in the dustbin.

Giffgaff uses the same network. Only some of the network settings are different from the o2 setup.
