Hi, I’ve just received a text from o2-UK which I believe is a fake. The text read:

O2 Ref: Site No. RT02B022. Your security code is 8281. If you're not in direct contact with O2, please call 202 now so we can protect your account. Thanks.

This is a scam I think think u as anyone knows it’s real? Be careful guys!

Call 202 immediately to confirm if there is any account activity as this is the confirmation text you receive when in store and they are looking to access your details on their computer.
It could just be a number input error, but best to check.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@Anonymous 202 is the legitimate number to call Customer Service from your mobile, so there's no harm in calling to check why you were sent that text.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

@Anonymous Out of interest are you upgrading or just received it as possible fraud?
