Voicemail on pay monthly

I have had a voicemail says its from 901 .

Firstly I dont have voicemail turned on on my phone so dont know why i should have got it..

I listened to it hope i have not done something wrong now and signed up to something stupid 😞

Voicemail said my 4 number pin was going to go back to default and i had to change it.

I dont know what number pin it meant but they are still on default whichever .

I now have voicemail icon top left switched phone off and on and its still there and whistling at me saying i got voicemail 

How do i get rid of icon please ?

Call your mobile from another phone and leave yourself a voicemail. Listen to it then choose to delete it. Option 3 I think. That will get rid of the stuck voicemail and the icon.

Default pin is 8705. You will have to change this to a 4 digit pin of your choice as a security measure and for your own protection.

Then dial 1760 to turn off voicemeil.

i got rid icon thanks now to re read jonsie post and make sure its safe

That was scary when son left voicemail it said i had 2 voicemails son i understood but other one was in a foreign lingo and its frightened sill old me . I have changed pin from the 901 voicemail i got then turned voicemail off again. 

Will my phone be secure now please need reassuring ?
