When is TU Go being made available to Windows phones? At what stage is it in development? Is it actually in development?

Hi everyone,
It's good to be back, doing another Virtual Interview on the community but this time with all the apps - TU Go, Evernote and Clip It. Some great questions from avid TU Go users already, so I'll jump straight to answering them for you now.
Cheers
Will

When will TUGO be available to us business customers
Hi Adam
Our Business team are actively working on this. There's quite a bit to do to ensure the product, activation and billing all work well for Business customers. We're expecting to have some news to share on this in a few months, when the right time comes the community team will be in touch with you.

Hi MagicCottage,
Yes great point - this is something we're looking to introduce in our v2.0 product in a few months. Feel free to post your feedback and ideas in the official TU Go feedback thread Feedback

@Anonymous wrote:1. Since so many users on here have reported issues with battery consumption, why is it like it's the first time every time someone mentions it? Why can't someone follow up on it and why is it so hard to make it work properly on all phones (like, say, skype)?
2. Has anything been done to improve your customer service advisors' understanding of TU Go? Half of them don't even seem to know what it is or what it does.
3. Do you intend to allow calls over 3G/4G instead of only wifi? (e.g. while roaming)
Hi Antio,
Great questions, I'll address them individually.
1. We always track Community feedback closely and we've been aware of the issues on Android battery consumption from this (and personal experience of our project team). We've been testing a fix for this and if it proves successful, we're looking to roll it out to users gradually across different device models. I appreciate the frustration this causes and it's one of our top priorities, however we don't want to cause any side-effects, so we're ensuring it's working well and performs across the range of hardware and software set-ups our users have.
2. We have a specialist team with customer services that are dedicated to TU Go support. We're aware our customers with TU Go issues aren't always getting to these guys. We've been working hard to improve all of our support processes over the past few weeks so we hope that should improve. I'd also strongly recommend visiting www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go and this community if you're looking for help; many of the members are very knowledgable and it's often possible to find a discussion about your specific device / issue / question.
3. Great question. It's actually already possible using a 3G/4G iPad with data SIM, however we're looking into this for other devices at the moment. Would you be happy using your 3G/4G data abroad for TU Go?

IS it TUGO available on MAC as well. I could not download that apps from my mac.
Thanks in advance
Hi Saquib
We're working on a Mac application for launch later this year. We're likely to have an opportunity for beta testing so if you'd like, we can get back in touch with you when we're ready if you'd like to be part of the beta group?

@Anonymous wrote:Do you acknowledge the fundamental issues that still exist after one year regarding the basics of sending/receiving calls that many on the forums post about?
If so, can you at least post the 'known issues' list and provide a timeline for resolution?
Hi Brainstorm,
Yes, we have a number of bugs on TU Go, even after our 1 year birthday. We're going to have an open list of bugs for the lifetime of the service, it's just something that happens in software development (particularly when we also factor in hardware, billing, registration, 3rd party SIMs/networks etc.).
However, as the UK Product Manager, I can tell you that seeing users upset or inconvenienced by issues is the hardest part of the job, and a lot of people are working very hard to ensure it matches our users' expectations. One of our key product priorities for this year is to fix the basics and simplify the service. To that point, resolving calling/text reliability is top of the list and I hope you'll notice an improved experience in our next app releases.
I often look at similar services and always note the version number they're on which is usually something like v5.x.x.x, whereas TU Go is currently v1.2 - and while being new is not a good excuse for issues, I consider last year as very early days for TU Go and this year we're looking to build on that and move much faster, your feedback is always going to be helpful.

@Anonymous wrote:Have you tested the app's reliability on IOS when a user has contacts both on iCloud and Microsoft Exchange Server? - I am quite sure this issue is what causes my app to constantly crash and why I have had to revert to version 1.1.5 to have anything remotely reliable
Hi Rfhwilliams
Thanks for raising this. I'll ask Toby to get your details privately and we'll look into this - we fixed a number of bugs in our most recent release v1.2 but sounds like you're still having some problem, so apologies for that.

The latest version of TU Go is a definite improvement for me, an Android user. However, I would like to see further enhancements along the following lines:
The text input area, which now expands to three lines, should expand to the limit of the screen size.
I would like to be able to cut, copy and paste text from an earlier text.
I would like to be able to forward a text.
I would like to be able to send a text to more than one person at a time, including the use of one of my groups.
Keep up the good work!
Hugh
Hi HughG
Thanks for the suggestions, always appreciate it. Here's some feedback:
- Text input - we've increased the size previously following user feedback, however I'll take away to look at with the team.
- Cut/copy/paste - good idea - we enabled SMS paste recently, but will look into being able to cut/copy existing SMS content
- Forward a text - coming soon!
- Multi-person texting - as above, coming soon, this is another of the 'fix the basics' points we wanted to solve in the messaging experience.

Hi Chris1963
We're currently working to support TU Go on Windows Phone as well as some other operating systems. We're looking to launch this in our v2.0 release in the Summer and will give the Community a heads up when this is available. Keep your eyes peeled!
