I tried inserting my known-working pay-as-you-go O2 mobile phone sim into a Vodafone dongle yesterday. The Vodafone software detected the O2 network OK but I got a message saying that the network settings would have to be configured manually before a connection could be made. It looks like these settings are the APN, username and password (no surprise that they're all on Vodafone settings currently). Does anyone know what these values should be, and will the connection work once I've made the changes?

The data settings for a prepay mobile is -
APN - payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username - payandgo
password - password
The settings I showed on an earlier post was for a prepay mobile broadband sim. However, reading the post again. I recognise you have put your prepay mobile phone sim in to the dongle.
I'm not familiar with the Vodaphone interface for MBB but you might need to create a new profile to add these settings.

Most of the Vodafone connection managers will not allow you to change the APN settings to anything other than Vodafone. You will need to download and install a generic connection manager.
Not sure which Vodafone modem you have, but you can probably get the unlocking solution from http://www.unlocked-modem.com

I have unlocked a vodafone R218h device and it detects the o2 simm but will not connect to the internet, are there any other settings I need to change?
