Unlocking my phone

I have just bought into the SIM only deal with o2. However I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 which needs to be unlocked. Can this be done by o2?

Who were you with when you bought the phone? it is up to that provider to give you the unlock code

Thanks. But my phone is originally from another network provider (EE). Will this still be ok?

@jonsie  I always understood it was up to the network the phone was locked to to provide the unlock code?

Then only EE can unlock it for you.

I wrongly assumed you got the phone from O2.
