Unlocking an O2 phone

Hello. I'm trying to unlock my iPhone 5s, I've activated a new o2 sim, and I've made two calls. The support replied to me with this email "....has not been used on our network with the MPN
provided, so it will not be possible to unlatch it."

I'm in Italy, and the device connects to the WIND network here. Is there any way to unlock the phone?

Currently I can make calls but not receive or send sms.

You need to connect to O2 UK network for it to register https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/Unlocking-an-O2-phone-to-use-a-different-SIM-card/ba-p/1...
You might have more luck in a phone repair shop whilst abroad.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

The phone needs to be in the UK @Vincenzo so you could post it to a friend or family member here, or try your local phone shops to see if they can unlock it.
