Unlocking Phone without Sim

Hi there!

I bought an iPhone 6 off of ebay and it was in fine condition. Not at the time, but it is becoming a problem now, was that the phone was locked to O2. Now I've switched to BT and I can't put my micro-sim into the phone without it coming up as invalid.

I can't fill in their form, I can't contact customer support because I don't have an O2 number and I can't be asked to wait and pay for 30 minutes of hold.

Possibly a stupid idea, but I did erase all data and reset all settings. 

Any suggestions?

Would putting in my sisters sim and then unlocking the phone work or corrupt something?

If your sister has an o2 sim it would work. Just use the phone with her sim for a day or two first then fill out the form.
