Unable to buy a data bolt on

Just changed my monthly tariff which activates on the first. But I need to buy a data bolt on to see out the remainder of the week, which for some reason it won't let me do. Is there a way around this.

You will need to call O2. Tariff changes create problems when attempting to buy bolt ons.
