Trouble Connecting to O2 WiFi in Costa?

Hi all,

 

I'm using Windows 10 on my laptop and am trying to connect to the free WiFi in Costa. I use Chrome and Firefox. The network SSID is O2 WiFI.

 

The problem is, that I can connect, but when I go to the activation screen at https://welcome.o2wifi.co.uk/

 

I get redirected to an error page. 

 

I can then visit some web pages that I've visited before (where they display the latest content, not older versions of the site) but if I try to connect to a new site I haven't visited before I get an error.

 

The only way to resolve this is to reset the network adapter in Windows. Then I can connect to the WiFi, visit the activation page and all is good. Until it happens again.

 

This is a pain as I lose all my network settings such as other wifi usernames and passwords. 

 

Any tips to avoid this?

We get many reports of fickle WiFi connections in Costa unfortunately.
I think it’s just a “feature” in there.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
