Text message from 02

I recived a text message (sms) telling me 02 are introducing a new spam blocking system, i could op out if i wanted too.

Just for the record, this Samsung Galaxy, has already got a spam and identity blocking system built in.

The message said i might have one and it might stop the 02 system from working. 😜

Is this real, or are 02 being stupid sending messages like that, also sounds like they might give my number to genuine company's 

I never follow links, only my own bookmarks, never enter anything, my browser does that anyway

So if it is real, i think it's a scam anyway?

Btw, i used my 02 app, couldnt find any op out, but thats normal for 02 anyway, always hiding things

The App built in to the Galaxy Dialer is very similar to the O2 offering and is run by the same company

It has served me well over the years and works equally well with my O2 and my EE SIM.  I shall not be changing
