Sim swap still hasn't changed my number weeks later. Two numbers for one phone.

I did the sim swap over the phone when I swapped from pay and go to contract and wanted to keep my number. My friends are able to text me using my old pay and go number but when I text them back it's the number of the new sim card. It's getting really irriating that people keep not replying or getting confused as they get a message from a random number when I'm using the exact same phone (iphone 4s) and I'm meant to have the same number as before.

Any help on how I can get this fixed to my original number?

All you need to do is go into settings >Phone >My Number and edit the one shown to your correct phone number.

Hi,

The technical term for this is a 'split service', which has happened because your number was not ported correctly, or because you have not waited long enough for it to be ported completely.

It needs to be fixed from the network side, you can't do anything about it directly.

It shouldn't take more than 48 hours to complete number porting, though.

If you have waited 3 or 4 days or longer, call customer services on 202, and insist that somebody gives you a timescale for fixing the problem.

A sim swap takes upto 24 hours not 48, maybe a call to cs on 202 will help solve the problem

Yes, but we have had bank holidays, so I was allowing for the possibility of it taking longer.  We have no idea how long the OP has been waiting, (hours or days).

So it does, do you know I saw that when I originally wrote my post, then when I reviewed it I only read the message body, and edited my post accordingly, thinking that I was suffering from a degenerative mental illness and seeing things that didn't exist.

Basically, I am overtired.

Thanks for making me realise that it is almost 2 in the morning and I should be sleeping Hero

Hi natalie321

I believe it may not have been a 'sim swap' you should have carried out as this is to move your tariff and mobile number from one sized SIM card to another if changing phones with a different sized SIM card or if a person thinks their SIM card is faulty ,but the 'keep my number' option instead.

More info here -> http://www.o2.co.uk/movetopaymonthly

You may need to speak to customer services again as indicated.

Please let us know how you get on.

If you don't have that option put your sim in another phone. The O2 store may help you.
