Hi, I hope someone can advise.  I have received a pay monthly business sim to my home address but not with my name as the addressee, but someone else’s name.  I have spoken to O2 who have advised that this may be fraud and that the fraud team will contact me within 10 days (and not to give the sim to anyone). I’m just a little concerned as to what someone can do with regard to opening up a mobile phone contract under my address, but surely they need the Sim.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, or if anyone else has had this happened to them?  What should I do to keep safe with regards to accounts and personal information, etc.

@DW21 First thing you should do is change the password on your O2 account. Check your bank statement to see if there are any charges you don't recognise, and inform your bank of the incident. Also take a look at these links:

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

The same has happened to me today - My own SIM arrived yesterday, and another today in an unknown name. What was the outcome in your situation?

Follow the advice offered by @Bambino above, @GazzyP - anything out of the ordinary should be dealt with immediately you notice it - hesitate, and it's too late to find out it was not a scam, as you'll be liable for any charges until O2 are informed, and the Fraud team do take quite a while to deliberate.

Good luck!
