Sim card in tracking device

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all, looking for some help. I have an o2 'pay as you go' sim card in a tracking device hidden within my car. How do I find out how much balance is on the sim without constantly having to remove it from the tracker. Can a second mobile number be added to the 'O2' app on my iphone? Suggestions and observations would be welcome.

If it's a normal payg sim you can see it in your MyO2, if it's a data only dongle type sim you can't do it any other way than the dashboard I don't think.
I seem to remember a while back you could log in via www.mbb.o2.co.uk but dunno if that still works?

Slightly away from your question, but make sure the tracking device can take a new 4g sim. I know a number of the cheaper ones out there need a 2g sim which I doubt is still available.

All 4g sims will work on 3g and 2g no problem.

Ah ok, just I happened to be around some of the giffgaff forums last week and they were saying some of the cheaper trackers weren't compatible with the 4g sims.

Yeah, that was because you can't configure the apn for data on some devices, but not strictly a 2g/4g issue.
