I've been trying for nearly a month now to transfer my number to o2.
The first time I tried it online on the o2 website and on the day of transfer I lost signal as usual but my number didn't transfer. I was told it would take a few days but after a week it didn't work.
Second time I went into Phones4U, where my mum bought my contract, and they did it for me. They told me it would be transferred and gave me a temporary number. The temporary number kicked in the next day but my number never transferred and I am still using said temporary number.
The third and most recent time I went into Phones4U again and told them what happened and they phoned up o2 again and said it would be transferred on December 17th. I got an email saying that this would happen and I'd get another email and a text asking me to confirm on the 17th. The 17th rolled on and I never got a text from o2.
I'm getting really sick of this and I want my number back desperately. My PAC code has ran 'out of date' now and I'm just so lost.
Does anyone know of anything to do? Thank you.

Ok, well basically a PAC code is generated from a central database that no phone company has any influence over.
There are a few rare occasions where there is a issue and only issuing a new PAC code will solve the problem. Now your PAC code has expired your can do it again.
So contact Giff gaff for your PAC code and phone O2 Customer services with it.
Hopefully second time is a charm.
I will say that this is not the first time Giff Gaff customers requesting a PAC have had a issue.

I tried to request a PAC code again, but the mobile number I want to transfer seems to not belong to any network, as when you ring it, the call cuts and it doesn't appear to be linked to my giffgaff account so I can't request the PAC code from giffgaff.

Have you tried from the website?
Apparently you have to sign into your account there,
Click on HELP at the top of the page.
At the bottom right of the "Step 1 - Help Yourself" box you'll see PAC CODE.
Click on that and your Pac Code will be sent as a text to your phone and also appears under your phone number on your "My giffgaff" page.
You then give the Pac code to your new provider and they'll handle the porting of the telephone number to them.
Not sure if that will work though if your number is no longer registered to giffgaff. You might have to speak to O2 customer service to get this resolved.

Did you have any luck with this as I'm trying to do the same and I've twice been told it would be done within 24 hours then to be told there ware problems.
Second time they said the PAC is invalid and I need to contact GiffGaff, which i'm still waiting on. O2 said they sent me a text advising me of this but I never received it!
I also noticed that all the credit has disappeared from my GiffGaff account so I'm quite confused! But as there is no way to speak to GiffGaff except sending a mail to an "agent" I'm stuck waiting!
