Scam warning, received this email, requests all bank acct details once logged in

This e-mail was sent to me by O2.

We've made some important security changes to our website and in our best attempts to keep you safe, we require each of our customers to confirm their accounts in order for their mobile services to remain active.

O2 need to do something about this and fast - The amount of correct info contained in the spam emails is going to draw many customers into completing the steps requested.
There are going to be many accounts with fraudulent activity on them or customers with emptied bank accounts very quickly....
This info can only be coming from one source !!

Click "options" then choose "edit"

Please do as MI5 advises immediately. There may not be any mods to do this until morning. If you don't want your email address and phone number to be public knowledge, delete them NOW.

 

No reputable company would ever ask anyone to confirm their details via an insecure email. Why, after all the years of warnings about these tactics are people still so gullible? There are tens of thousands of email lists that are sold to scammers all over the world.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
