Samsung Galaxy S3 Screen

Anonymous
Not applicable

I am on a 24 month contract with O2, I just upgraded to a samsung galaxy s3 last month. Today I was on my phone and was texting the next thing I looked down at the screen and there was a straight thin crack along the screen. I did not use any force on the screen so I do not understand why it would just crack like that for no reason. I am so frustrated because I love this phone. I have O2 insurance but I do not want to make a claim, I want my phone replaced or the screen replaced as its just not right that a new phone should crack for no good reason.

If you don't want to claim the best option would be to return it to Samsung for inspection to see if there was a flaw. Don't bother returning it to O2 as they will just reject it as user damage.

Unless this is a known issue with this phone, I can only suggest some force has caused it to crack and you may have to pay for the repair.

Sending it to Samsung may get it done free if they agree you haven't done this.

What's wrong with claiming on the insurance?

Phone insurance isn't worth the paper it's printed on. You're probably better protected by your Home Insurance than anything else.

The OP has insurance, just doesn't want to claim for some reason.

Before I comment is there any chance you can post a picture of the crack?
