Got a quote for my perfect iPhone 7 Plus 128g immaculate condition been in a enclosed case since the day I got it! Q£210 got an email today saying revised quote £42 !!!! Due to discoloured area on LCD (shading) this is rubbish & I dis not accept it I’ve asked for my phone back from them & if it gets lost of damaged on return they will need to pay the cost of £210. My phone I carefully looked after never has there been any problem with the screen so I’m sorry O2 Recycle you need to either stop with the recycling of phones or pay up what you say! I’m taking this further & I may even cancel my contact as I still have 14 days to do so!!

I used Mazuma mobile. Although after I sent it I looked at the reviews 🙄 very much the same as O2 but with me they were fine & promised the amount I got. Also I looked up Samsung Recycle they actually offered me £267 unlocked but I had already sent to Mazuma. Never mind. Good idea to shop about though.

That's good to know @Jbden. Thanks for the info. wink

This is excellent news @Jbden

I don't trust O2 recycle, so good news that shopping around can get you better deals.  I have quite the build up of old phones in a draw at home now as I have never trusted O2 recycle.

Thanks

Just had the same thing, I sent a iphone 7 in mint condition to o2 recycle and was offered £150. They have now contacted me stating that they have checked the phone and found Screen damage : Discoloured area on LCD (shading) what ever that means.

Their revised offer is now £30. This is absolute rubbish, the phone was in a protective case the whole time and there was nothing wrong with the screen.

Phone is getting returned and i will be getting it checked out properly to confirm there is nothing wrong with before contacting 02 and making a complaint

I've said it before but it won't hurt to say it again......
Check your IMEI number to ensure you get the same phone back.

@Jbden

You would be far better off checking out CEX....or even Mazuma recycle. People get far better prices with them. You could put that towards an upgrade,

I have noticed a change with O2 recycle excuses. At one time we could usually guarantee they would say 'water damage'. Now it seems to be led screen display issues...Rolleys

It would seem to be a very prevailant problem these days. Of all the phones I have had in my lifetime, not one has developed this apparently contagious issue.
