Hi,

I live in Kenya and I was given an O2 SIM card. I activated the SIM and topped it up and can receive the O2 notification SMS.

However, when I tried to register for Revolut the OTP SMS does not come through.

When I also tried to send an SMS from my Kenyan number to my O2 number it also failed.

I am also unable to send SMS from my O2 to Kenyan number or even to another UK number.

The phone shows the SIM is Roaming.

Kindly advise as I have airtime and when I check my account online I am unable to purchase roaming bolt ons and there does not seem to be an obvious choice for roaming tariffs.

You need credit to make calls or send texts https://www.o2.co.uk/international/using-your-phone-abroad

Receiving texts may be an issue if the sim hasn't registered on a UK O2 network yet.
