I’ve recieved a text today from o2 reading:

Hi. It looks like you recently sent your first premium text (SMS).

Just in case you didn't know, this sort of text isn't included in your tariff.

To check your charges and stay on top of your bill, head to My O2: http://s.o2.co.uk/6cRZoVk7

I have sent no texts different from usual. I’ve gone through my texts. Nothing to any company or strange number. I’ve been charged £3.75!!! Like I said I’ve sent nothing to any strange number. I have however recieved a couple strange automated spam text messages of which the numbers I blocked. Could that be what’s taken the 3.75? How can I be charged for receiving dodgy texts I didn’t sign up for?! So confused. Never replied back or anything just blocked the numbers the spam like texts were coming from.

I have had exactly the same problem, received 2 texts yesterday from something called Psychicpalace, which was nothing to do with me, I did not reply, blocked the numbers and today I have checked my bill and been charged £3.75!

Mine are also from “psychic palace AU” it must be Australian?! I’ve never been on the website or even heard of it?! How do we get our money back from these pathetic scammers?

I've been trying to webchat with someone but they are all busy so going to go into the store on my lunch - I will let you know how I get on! I also got one from ShopSafe asking me to enter a PIN online - which again, was nothing to do with me!

Exactly the same for me! 2 psychic palace texts and a shop safe text. Haven’t entered my details anywhere, I just followed the guide posted and called the number provided and have been told they’ll block their access to my phone or something & refund the 3.75. 02035145705.
Good luck. Quite concerning this all isn’t it?

Ah brilliant, thank you, I'll get on it right away! Yes it is, I wonder how many people don't even realise that they are being charged for getting texts that they did not request!

No worries! Precisely my thoughts. Mostly elderly people I’d imagine- what an ethical company trying to scam the vulnerable out of their earned money via unwanted text messages!

It’s all very sneaky how they do this. We keep asking for a 2 step verification system put in place to stop this from happening
