Poor Signal on Mobiles at home

Hi, I've got at Nokia Lumia and my partner an old Nokia handset.  When I first had my Lumia about 2 months ago I had great signal and reception at home and so did my partner.  About a month ago the I was getting calls at home and I could hear the caller but they couldn't hear me, my partner moaned it was my phone but then his phone started to do the same.  We live in Northwich in Cheshire, in Rudheath has anyone else in the area experienced similar problems.  Both phones are now un-usable in the house for phone calls, which is not acceptable.  Signal on the phone looks fine and text, internet etc is fine its just voice calls.  Can't be the phones as it is happening on both phones. Any info please?

Status checker is not reporting any faults so it may be best for you to call 202 and report the issue. O2 may not know if there is a fault at the moment.

Hi, I did find this info after making the post however, I can't beleive the mast has been out for about a month without anyone reporting it till this week.  I am concerned that O2 may be turning off masts in certain areas.  I saw an item on watchdog a while ago where Orange did the same thing and refused to turn it back on even though customers were unable to use their phones at home.  I just signed up to a 24 month deal on this new phone, if the mast is not repaired, it makes our phones pretty useless when we are at home.

 

Fingers crossed its fixed soon.

I have the same problem in the west of the isle of Wight there used to be a good signal but now I can't hear what people say when making or receiving calls. I wad unhelpfully told by o2 its because you only have 2g. That doesnt explain why it did work.

Are you sure your phone hasn't developed a fault, have you cleaned your sim?

I live in Stoke-on-Trent, I have been with O2 for many years. I had tried other networks but none had a decent signal where I live, so after using works phones, which were on O2, I found that the signal was really good. However over the last year or so the signal has gradually deteriorated so I now only get one or two bars (used to be 4). My son lives just round the corner, he is on O2 and is having the same problems. We only live a short distance from the masts so this should not be happening, there are no tall buildings to stop signals etc. I would dearly love this to be sorted out, as I have been a loyal customer for many years and don't really want to start fishing about to find another service provider that can give me the service I require, we are after all in 2014, not the stone age of mobile communications anymore.

I have just read an article about illegal phone signal boosters causing problems on O2. The article says that Ofcom has seized illegal booster equipment which was causing problems on the O2 network. Could this be a problem that is affecting my reception?

I also notice that Ofcom have a complaints department that you can contact if you are unhappy with your service from your provider, which ever provider it is.

 Ofcom don't handle individual complaints, they group them together until they feel an investigation is justified.

 

Also O2 don't promise a trouble free connection as don't all the other providers, so a complaint would fail.
