Pocket 4g wifi device

I'm on the 40GB/ month tariff where if you go over 40GB, it cuts the speed by half until you reach 50GB, and half again until you reach 60GB etc. Down to a minimum of 12.5% of speed.
Does anyone know how the original speed is calculated? Thanks

It depends on the ability of the mast you are connected to - there is no guaranteed maximum speed available as it will always vary by location and the number of users subscribed to the same mast.

So if they were to cut the speed by half, is there a way to determine it'll be half of 'x'?

If you do a speedtest you'll know what "x" is but only at that precise moment in time.
Speed is constantly variable.
