We get calls from landline numbers all the time. Infact it has very much become a part of life where i am not picking up calls from any numbers not saved in my directory. This means sometimes i miss calls that i should have picked up.
Usually when i recieve that kind of call (scammers). I hang up, block the number and then do a quick google search to find out more about it.
What i found was there is a significant information online about people reporting these numbers and identifying them. Obvious question in this case is that why companies like O2 and the rest of network providers not doing anything about it.
1. With the numbers being identified as phishing / Scammers why not just block it for all the callers. I am sure there are zero customers who prefer recieving calls of such nature.
2. Like HMRC why not ask people to report these numbers to O2 via the app or website. Have a directory of blocked numbers and block them for all customers of O2.
Yes they do call from “No ID callers” but majority of them are from landline.
Small step to help people not get scammed.
