Pay off old contract

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am currently an ee customer but I am unhappy with the service I receive due to lack of signal etc.
My friend mentioned that o2 sometimes pay off your contract in order to switch over to their network however I am unsure if this is true or just hearsay.
I have just under a year left on my ee contract but I am hoping to move over to O2 as I was with them for years and was always happy with the service and my family are with O2 atm and I haven't known them have many problems.
Does anybody have any information about this? It would be greatly appreciated ☺

I've heard of some of the independents like Carphone Warehouse do it occasionally, but never O2 directly.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It was very popular at phones 4 u
They would buy out you old contract to switch you to a new provider.
Proven false economy.

I don't know of anyone who actually does this these days but beware if you do find someone. Nothing is for free and you end up paying in some way.
