I’ve moved from giffgaff to O2 and i wanted to keep the same number
I got a text saying the port date would be 1/06/22 which is today and to turn off the phone
my giffgaff sim went no signal and stopped working around 9am
so i took my new o2 sim and put it in my new phone
it’s still showing a random number in settings and i’m unable to make any calls or receive any
is the process still going
how long would i need to wait for it to show the new number?

Once the port has completed, you will need to manually change the number in Settings >Phone >My Number.
Edit, save and reboot.

And it really is that simple - this video has you switch off messages and facetime, if enabled, first - seems pretty straightforward as well, @princess01:

I glad they actually switched you.
I applied my pac last week when ordering the sim.
I filled in the form again once the sim arrived with the sims serial number.
3 days later it still hasn’t switched over.
