Outrageous O2 grey market practices!!

Anonymous
Not applicable

So I buy a Sony Xperia z5 Compact from the o2 shop in Preston and am pretty happy with it. Notwithstanding the first one I had had a technical issue it was dealt with pretty efficiently. At the time I wanted to buy a cover but the store said their stock had been 'uplifted' by head office!.  I went back a week later to see if the cover I wanted the Sony scr44 in black was in stock but again nothing doing.

The black one is pretty sought after, and  I assumed you must have just run out of stock... till I found this...

O2 Official Ebay store run by Kondor ltd

Where you are flogging them out at nearly £40 for the black ones but only £16 for the coral ones.

I guess it wont be long before o2 get into the ticket touting, and market trading business!!

I have put in a complaint!!

Perhaps @Toby could check....?

Someone needs to Rich. I clicked on 'Contact us' ...it takes you to the ebay shop address...

I think it's conning people. Ebay has some weird and wonderful sites. Not sure it's legit to plagiarise O2 logo and add Telefonica in the top right hand corner ?

Not sure if Toby has been around today so I'll tag @Martin-O2 too.

Thanks @Toby. Not sure of the legality of it....However, even if it escapes the 'legal framework'... its morally wrong to pretend to be O2 when they are not....People buying their goods will be under the impression they are purchasing from O2...

It's illegal if it's not authorised by O2 - simple as that, but let's wait and see what Toby turns up.....

Buying on Ebay can be a minefield and anybody using Ebay should ensure they know from whom they're buying and what they're buying.....in other words "let buyer beware"

Looks like an officially contracted out service:

This looks interesting

That statement is probably a requirement of the licensors and suppliers......if everything else is genuine that is.
