When an o2.co.uk mailbox becomes full, a message appears in the mailbox:
"Your mailbox is full! It is currently over its allowed capacity. As of now, incoming messages can no longer be received, and they are being returned to the sender indicating your mailbox is full."
Unfortunately, messages are not returned to the sender as they should be. This is a problem since a lot of mailboxes will be shrinking significantly as people are migrated to Sky.

Hi,
Have you fed this info back to O2 ?

This is going to cause a lot of problems for people who haven't yet migrated their accounts to another provider. If people think their sent emails are reaching the recipient it could have awful consequences for both parties.

No, I don't really use O2 email, but I thought it's important to make this bug public.

Of course I have no way of knowing how long this issue has gone on for. There have been lots of people with 20 MB mailboxes over the years irrespective of the current migration, and anyone using webmail or a POP3 client set to leave their messages on the server would eventually cease to receive email, whilst the sender would assume that the email has been successfully delivered.
The one "saving grace" is the "mailbox full" warning email which is sent out to the mailbox owner, which hopefully would have prompted them to take action before the mailbox started to lose emails, although as I say the email is incorrect in saying messages are returned to sender.

Just one more web site fault that needs looking at Oliver, I doubt they'll bother now though.
