Now that O2 Refresh can be customised, extending a contract out to 36 months if desired, does the availability of O2 Open discount also match the term chosen?
I notice the recently announced O2 Offers pages default a new Pay Monthly offer to a 36-month contract to keep the figures low...
Anyone tried lately to use O2 Open on a new longer-term (more than 24 months) Pay Monthly contract?
From the O2 Open Aug-2016 Ts&Cs page here:
4.10 Airtime Discounts will remain in place for the duration of the Qualifying Contract up to a maximum of 24 months (“Offer Period”). If you leave O2, or your Qualifying Contract is terminated for any reason, including upgrading to a new Qualifying Contract, then the O2 Open Airtime Discount will stop. If you change to a new or upgraded Qualifying Contract, Eligible Employees will need to re-apply for a new O2 Open Airtime Discount meeting all the criteria of joining the Scheme that may apply at that time.

Any update on this yet, @Martin-O2?
I get a one-shot code from my employer's perks website for O2 Open discount, and I need to be sure it works if I have to tailor the contract duration to get the monthly Device Plan and Airtime combo down below a certain amount a month (allowing for the odd SMS to non-UK numbers, and the April RPI increase, of course!).

Not yet @pgn. Things have been moving a little slower due to the Christmas period but I'll chase this up for you today.

Thanks! I can't imagine O2 would have overlooked the change from 12/24 to (up to) 36 month contracts in a product as widely used as O2 Open.
But that's not to say the person in the O2 Shop or O2's own online ordering system would see it the same way...

Thank you for confirming, @Martin-O2.
As my last device plan payment comes off this month, I'll be looking around for the best combination of up-front payment, monthly repayment plan cost and tariff to get me a OnePlus 6T (purple this year?) in the next couple of weeks. The O2 Open discount rate duration is another factor in that giddy mix, now laid to rest.

@Martin-O2 The wording in my picture could do with an update the blue box popup
