My credit score has suffered because of o2

Basically I am in the middle of trying to buy a house and I have a missed payment of £15 on my file from o2 and the mortgage lenders have put the offer on hold because of it. Back in June I got my son a new tablet and the old one he had used a data sim so I stopped using it all together and told my partner to cancel the sim as she was off work at the time but turns out she completely forgot to and now months down the line I received a letter in the post about a missed payment but prior to that I had no messages from o2 about any payment being due, I think the last message I had from o2 about anything was back in March so I don't know what changed. Now I'm at the point where I'm still trying to cancel that sim and also speak to someone but I'm having great difficulty trying to get through to anyone as the link the automated chat gives me is broken to try and speak to someone and also multiple times being on hold I eventually get cut off?! I'm hoping I've put this message in the right place to be able to speak to the right person
