Mobile Phone Not Working!

Bought a mobile from O2 on line shop and was told in love chat the phone was UNLOCKED to any network.

Got phone, put sim card in, will not work.

Tried other networks will not work.

Phone just says Emergency Calls Only!

I am stuck!

Called O2 and was told to put the O2 sim card in phone and wait 24 hours as this should open up the phone. Done as retold but still not working.

Rang O2 many times only to get cut off.

Need this sorting ASAP as cannot use the phone.

Any help or advice would be most grateful.

I bought the phone from the on-line O2 shop and collected it the next day from an O2 store near me.

Then it's obviously faulty. It needs to be returned.

Call O2 on any of the links in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Thank you for your input I do appreciate it.

The O2 staff I managed to get to speak to after a fair few calls and getting hung up by them never mentioned it could be a faulty phone to me.

They said the imei number had been barred back in January, months before I ever contacted them and bought the phone from the O2 on-line store on the advice of live-chat that the phone was definitely unlocked!

What's obvious is that the customer service staff haven't got a clue what they are doing and cannot diagnose my problem. Hey they have my money in their bank account, why bother about me now, I'm just another "mug punter" who is keeping them in work.

I'm not sending anything back, it will cost me and I'm not spending a penny more on O2 I am sick of them.

I asked them to call me back but they said they can't do that, sure you can't O2 your only a mobile PHONE operator lol

Well I will try the numbers you have kindly given me a heads up to but don't think they will answer my call or be able/want to get my phone working.

It's just another case of broken britain in 2020 and shoddy, poor customer service where the multi national organisation screws over the little guy who feeds it.

I have now probably spent more on phone calls to them than the actual cost of the phone.

All the calls in the link I provided are free. Best time to call is 8am.

Best of luck and stay safe.

I would try any or all of them . The one which seems to have the best response is the one ending 4005

Called them at 805am and was on the line for 40 minutes.

Problem still not resolved!

Having been passed around between departments a lady said she will get someone from the insurance team to call me back before 10am with an update.

Absolutely gutted, it's a total shambles, O2 are worse than useless!

Never, ever again will I go anywhere near O2 in any way shape or form.

That sounds like a brush off to me @chudofbroady . In normal circumstances it's rare to get a call back from O2.

I can only suggest you call again in the hope you get a better advisor who is more willing to help.
